Lionel Lawson Faundel-Phillips bookplate 'Ne tentes aut perfice'. Colley Cibber (1671-1757) was a dramatist, actor and poet. He wrote over thirty plays, famously playing some eccentric parts, but he was seemingly a weak Poet Laureate, ridiculed by Pope.
