Between 2003 and 2009, photographer and founder Amber member Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen returned to Byker which she originally documented in the 1970s. Konttinen builds a portrait of its diverse communities, opening up on the complex, often transient and fragile nature of contemporary urban lives and the architecture that is part of the story.
