Text in Icelandic. In the summer of 1897 British multi historian WG Collingwood travelled Iceland. His purpose was to draw pictures of historic sites such sagas could show their lovers in the UK how Iceland looked at sagas. All made Collingwood 300 images invaluable source of information on the surroundings in Iceland in the nineteenth century and has long since become a classic. In three seasons, from 2007 to 2009, Ingólfsson followed in the footsteps of Collingwood and photographed the same locations from the same angles and Collingwood drew them just over a century before. The areas were once chosen because there were heroes of the ancient world who descended on foot through these locations
