Published according to Act of Parliament 1st August 1776. The 44 plates cover each section of the post roads on a County basis and the text provides details of times of travel. The contents also include the post stages, an alphabetical list of post towns and villages within three miles of the Great North Road and names of prominent persons living within the areas covered by each map.'
