Early printing of the original Thoth Tarot cards designed by Crowley who commissioned Frieda Harris to illustrate the set. Crowley originally intended the Thoth deck to be a six-month project , however, due to increased scope, the project eventually spanned five years, between 1938 and 1944. The Book of Thoth was published in 1944 in a 200 copy limited edition, but neither Crowley or Harris lived to see the deck itself printed. This early set has no borders to the rear of the cards and powder blue borders to the front. Distributed by Samuel Weiser whilst still based at his 734 Broadway address in New York.
