Written by Samuel Midgely whilst in Halifax Jail and published after his death by William Bentley. In three separate sections. Pages 1 - 100 'Halifax and its Gibbet Laws'. Pages 101 - 105 'Catalogue of Vicars'. Pages 109 - 170 'Revenge upon Revenge: or, an Historical Narrative of the Tragical Practices of Sir John Eland of Eland, High Sheriff of the County of York, &c'.
