Although the name of the compiler is not stated on the title page, a short paragraph on page 99 states 'William, the Second Lord Bagot, and Compiler of these Memorials....'
The volume is inscribed on a preliminary page to Henry Eyers Landor Esq, and dated Blithfield, January 1827. There is also a signature of Lord Bagot on the reverse of the linen back hand coloured engraving bound in at page 74. Also bound in at page 158 is a manuscript description of the felling of an elm tree.
